Early on Saturday morning, working W/VE stations and
the occasional Caribbean or South American station, on
weak Eskip.

I like my Heil Proset Plus, except for the design
flaw in the boom. As the headset warms up on
your head, the materials in the headset expand just
enough that whatever friction holds the boom arm
up in place no longer does the job and the boom will
slowly drop down. I've solved this problem with a
rubber band that added enough friction to keep
things in place.

George set up the station in the usual two-radio mode, although with
both radios on the same band, I could not listen while transmitting.

Three of the towers at K5TR. The left-most is a VHF-UHF tower, with
antennas for 50 MHz through 432 MHz. The parabolic antenna is George's
Internet link to Blanco. The tower in the center is the 10 meter tower,
and the righ-most tower is the 15 meter tower.

|
The antennas on the 10 meter tower include: six element yagi, 24' boom at
60', rotatable; six element yagi, 24' boom at 30', fixed NE; four element
yagi at 40', fixed SE; three element yagi at 20', fixed W.

George strung up a sloper dipole fixed NW at 40' on the 20 meter tower
on the opposite side of the shack from the 10 meter tower.
